Yes, Hopefully he will turn out to be a good one.. He had East going in the right direction till he left them in shambles!! If mention him ,got to throw in Greene From West .. He also took a very young 1-2 Sr. Team and Also finished 3rd along with like 4 other teams..LOL!!!.

Let me give you guys something to think about...One sign of a great coach is getting the most out of the talent you have each year. Although it is early in his varsity coaching career, keep an eye out for Logan Call. He had considerably less athleticism, little to no size this year and finished tied for 3rd in MVAC regular season. If you watch the North Boys play you will undoubtedly come away with an appreciation for how hard they play. Took Starmount into 3 OTs before Starmount could eek out a win. Doing these these types of things with less talent than the upper echelon (Starmount, WC), shows me Logan Call has his boys bought in to something pretty strong. 2-3 years down the road with young talent like he has at JV level, Logan Call will be in the discussion for best coach in the conference. Great job Coach Call, you have my respect and I am a fan!

Wilkes Central girls always seem to step it up a notch or two in the postseason. Thought that might change with Waugh leaving but huge win for them

Upset tonight in the Girls MVAC Tournament taking place at Starmount.
Wilkes Central defeats North Wilkes Lady Vikings, the reigning regular season and tournament champions.'
Guess its hard to beat a team 3 times in the same season .

Just ask anyone who know coaching Who the best is.... Also Starmount has won with multiple coaches Which is a testimony on the Athletes. So far as WC .. play in a 2a conference that you Belong in and they will be back in the single digit Win column..... By the way ,why is the great TJ not still there???? :)

Yeah to me WC has by far the most talent in the conference on a year to year basis. I’m not sold on coach Hagaman. Great guy but with the talent WC has had over the last 15 seasons, to only have one conference championship and being one of the bigger schools in the conference is a joke. The proof is in the pudding as they say. Tommy J would have had multiple conference championships with the talent WC has displayed. Starmount has a **** of a Coach. WC also has an issue with getting some of the better athletes in the school on the basketball court recently. It’s time for them to move on.

Likitis - Karma Karma Karma...how many wins does your team have this season? Or in the past 10 seasons? Don't like the press? Teach your boys a press-breaker. Tommy J. would have run the score up by 50. You can hate on WC all you want but sounds like sour grapes to me.

Didn't McKnight win like 5 games this year? How is he the best?

Seems there are several good coaches in the league. Head to head records its SHS 8, AHS 4 according to maxpreps. I think starmount has won 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5 conference championships. Not easy given the talent Wilkes Central has had and Alleghany had with Fabian, Sprinkle, etc.

Actually, North and East Wilkes had co-players of the year last year .. And Starmount has Overall most Talent in the league. No starter under 6'1" and a 6'7" kid coming off the bench.. again no doubt They have good Young coach . But not at Tommy's level yet!

Coach McKnight is also a great coach, but, Alleghany was really good when they had two 6'7 kids on the roster and one of the best shooters in this half of the state. That's a heck of a luxury in the 1A league. Now that they're gone, Alleghany isn't nearly as good. Starmount lost the reigning player of the year if I remember correctly and still won the conference. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

No maybe the 2nd round . Starmount Would be 4th at best in the Northwest 1a. Then you have all the other charter/prep schools. Not really apples to apples .. :(

Does Starmount have any chance of making a run in the State Tourney?

What is the strength of the team and key players?
